It’s almost… too hard in fact.

Keep track of your calories for every bite of food that reaches your lips
Eat less tasty stuff (no more pizza or donuts)
Weigh yourself each week to make sure you’re hitting your goals
Go to the gym at least 5 times a week
Learn new exercises to help you avoid plateaus
Stay motivated when you’re out with friends who are digging into a juicy burger
Ugh, what’s the point.
The odds are heavily stacked against you.
But here’s the thing:
All you need to do is focus on eating the right foods most of the time and the fat will fall off your body.
That’s what I’m going to be showing you today.
The best foods for burning fat, even if you’re not on a diet.
Who the hell wants to be on a diet anyway, it sucks!
The content that was promised which is going to solve their problem.
11 foods that burn fat… even while you sleep.
Here it is, a list of the best foods for fat loss, based on real evidence.
1. Hot peppers
Peppers are amazing at aiding fat loss. The hotter the pepper in fact, the better it is for you.
Yes they may cause a fire in your butt the next day, but who cares… you’re burning fat too right?
If you don’t like spicy food however, then it kinda sucks.
But what if you love spicy food, you should be stick thin by now right?
Well, not quite. Studies have shown that we can build a tolerance level for spiciness, so the fat loss benefits won’t be as great for you if you chow down chillis like a crazy person.
Eat peppers if you can stand the heat, because they have a fat fighting ingredient called capsaicin, which has been shown to suppress appetite and burn fat.
Eggs are pretty damn amazing.
They are packed full of nutrition and give you just about everything you need in a balanced diet.
But what about the cholesterol I hear you cry?
So why are eggs good for fat loss?
Well, because they have been shown to help reduce appetite if eaten in the morning. If that doesn’t convince you to eat more eggs, I don’t know what will.
Eat eggs in the morning if you can. They will help you to stay fuller for longer than if you eat a sugary cereal for example.
3. Apple cider vinegar
Yes, it stinks and tastes gross… but apple cider vinegar is one of the only foods (or beverages) that are consistently showing major health benefits when consumed.
An interesting study revealed that if you eat a high carb meal with apple cider vinegar, you can increase fullness. The impact of being full showed that test subjects ate 200-275 calories less per day.
Another study produced some astonishing results. It documented that taking 1-2 tablespoons of cider vinegar each day, lead to losing 2.6 to 2.7 pounds over a 12 week period.
Take 1-2 tablespoons before every meal, to reduce your hunger and make your body think you have eaten more than you actually have.
There are two reasons why you should be eating cantaloupe if you want to lose weight. The first reason is because it contains something called beta-carotene, which is a fat fighting compound.
The second reason is because of the amount of water each cantaloupe contains, around 92% of it’s mass is water. Not to mention the amount of fibre it has, which is awesome for digestion.
Eat half a cantaloupe for breakfast or lunch, with a glass of water. Don’t mix it with other food, as it can cause some stomach upset.
There are various opinions out there on coffee. The facts are simple though, coffee is filled with antioxidants and bioactive compounds which are great for you.
In terms of fat burners, caffeine is one of the best and is used in almost all fat burning supplements on the market today.
Some studies show a direct relationship between caffeine intake and weight loss.
Another study showed that by drinking just 600mg of coffee per day, they could burn an extra 79-150 calories per day. Not bad, huh?
Drink coffee before you workout, black obviously… no nasty dairy in there. Also remember that you can build up a tolerance to coffee, so don’t drink too much of it.
I know what you’re thinking. “Potatoes?? I thought they made you fat?”
Well, you’d be right… if you prepared them in a deep fat fryer that is.
But boiled potatoes are known to keep you fuller for longer. Meaning you don’t consume as many calories.
Having said that, you don’t want to overindulge. Use portion control, otherwise you may end up consuming more calories than you wanted to.
One other factor in potatoes that is interesting is the protein they contain, called protease inhibitor 2. It’s been documented that this protein may actually have some positive effects on the appetite hormones our body produces.
Boil your potatoes and eat them first, before anything else to fill you up. Also cool them before eating to help increase the amount of resistant starch, a fibre-ish substance that can help with weight loss.
7. Green tea
There’s been a lot of fuss over green tea over the past few years. Rightly so, because it’s truly is a magnificent fat burner due to its bioactive substances.
It’s known to contain an antioxidant called EGCG, which is used in a lot of supplements due to its bioavailability.
This antioxidant can cause an increase in norepinephrine activity, helping to to detach those nasty fatty acids from your fat stores.
Drink more green tea, it contains EGCG and caffeine, which can help you to boost metabolism and encourage your body to burn more fat.
8. Coconut oil
Fat is bad right? Well not exactly, some fats are actually good for you.
Although processed oil is essentially 100% fat, coconut oil is surprisingly good for you as it consists almost entirely of fatty acids called medium-chain triglycerides.
There are studies (6,7) suggesting that by eating coconut oil, you can take advantage of these fatty acids which can make you feel fuller. So much so, that you could eat up to 256 fewer calories in any given day.
The most interesting discovery so far with coconut oil is that it can help with belly fat loss, with just 30 mL (2 tablespoons) per day.
Be sparing with coconut oil. The fatty acids will help to reduce appetite and speed up the fat burning process.
Nuts are the original superfood.
High in natural good fats, high in fibre, low in carbs, calorie dense and very nutritious, they are one of the best foods you can eat. Especially when it comes to fat loss.
The architecture in nuts means that 10-15% of the calories don’t get absorbed properly by the body.
You should be careful to only eat a handful of nuts per day though, as it’s quite easy to eat a whole bag in one sitting.
There is some supporting evidence showing nuts can actually boost metabolism too.
Eat nuts in small quantities as a meal replacement, as they can help to keep you satiated for longer. Avoid roasted and salted nuts if you can. Natural is always better.
Not many people eat grapefruit. Sure they have it on holiday in a smoothie, but it’s not usually on the weekly shopping list.
Here’s the thing… it should be.
A study found that 91 of the obese individuals tested, lost 3.5 pounds on average over a 12 week trial, if they consumed half a fresh grapefruit before a meal.
Grapefruit is known to have appetite suppressing qualities and can help with activating fat burning hormones. Eat half before your next meal.
11. Lean meats (including fish)
Vegans and veggies beware, you won’t like the sound of this.
Protein is a big topic of discussion these days and some of the best sources of protein are lean meats and fish.
Protein is also known to help reduce cravings and keep you fuller for longer. It’s recommended that you eat around 20-30% of protein per day.
Did you know?
Drinking just half a litre of water can boost your metabolism by up to 30% over a 1 to 1.5 hour time period. Awesome right? You should also be drinking between 2-3 litres of water everyday.
